The Tracker simply and instantly transforms an everyday wheelchair into one that can take you out and about on roads, over fields and even up steep hills. The Tracker is a third wheel – either 16inch or 20inch – fitted on to a robust, lightweight axle extension. This fits neatly and securely into a slot built on to a normal wheelchair.
The Tracker wheel is operated by a hand-cycle and comes equipped with an advanced Shimano gearing system (either 8 or 16 gears) – commonly found on top-of-the-range mountain bikes. Braking is simply and safely achieved by using the handles in reverse. Using the Tracker on normal surfaces is effortless and smooth but for the active user wanting to get a real workout the Tracker comes into its own on rougher terrain.
